I’m slowly getting this darn website back together. I’ve been spending most of my time putting together all my past blogs, into one neat page for everyone to view. You know, it’s kind of crazy how much my life has changed… good and bad. Anyway I also want to say, that this Thursday I have a meeting with a local band. They are looking for a lead producer and keyboard player. I need to mix up a short demo of what I’ve made… wish me luck!

So, I wanted to do something cool tonight. I wanted to write, edit, and record a whole song in one night. I started at 1:34AM and finished around 3AM. I have to say…. I like it. I’m surprised how well everything went; I was up and going within minutes. The song is called “One Night.” I got a few pictures of my computer screen (as I was working).
Please keep in mind I am just playing around in the studio, seeing what all I can make. Remember this was all done within a few hours. Could you make a song within a few hours? LOL

Dreamscapes by Joshua Datu are digitally rendered images of real landscapes.
“The ‘Dreamscapes’ came about as an exaggeration of how technology continually re-defines our ideas of truth and reality”
Although the images turned out visually captivating, the process of layering and editing several images at once gives more satisfaction because it remains unknown.

So, my second term has just started. My classes are: Fundamentals of Graphic Design, Human Relations, and Fundamentals of Writing. Yeah, we are really moving fast. I love that my “Fundamentals of Graphic Design” is three days a week and four hours long. I really like this. The term ends October 7, 2010.
Well, I did promise to showcase a few of my final term projects. I will start with my Graphic Design class. Project one was a timeline on different art movements. Project two was a written paper on one graphic designer that had an impacted on the art world.
My timeline was created from the ground up using Adobe Flash CS4 & Photoshop CS4. Any images/text was pulled from different web sources and my text book.
I didn’t want to just write an easy paper on my graphic designer. I wanted to create something visually attractive. I selected graphic designer Raúl Martínez. His lively pop art helped capture the Cuban Revolution. The main template was created using Flash CS4, Photoshop CS4, and goodtutorials.com. I had a lot of fun making this project… putting my dog Bella on the iPhone 4′s wallpaper was a nice personal twist.
My last project was for my Success Strategies class. It was called “Where I’m from and Where I’m Going.” You could do this project on a poster board or PowerPoint. I went a step up and record a short video of my life. Here is the video:
Our presentation had to be less than three minutes long. I used my website’s biography and family pictures for my presentation. I had to wake up at 5AM for those lovely sunrise clips.
So, that’s what I did for my final first term projects. I can’t wait to see what other projects will come my way.
